If you're looking for car rental in Houston, Texas, it's important to know the requirements before booking. At Fastcar Rental Cars, we offer a simple and flexible process designed for both tourists and residents. We accept multiple payment methods, provide delivery at the airport or to your location, and have clear policies so you can rent with confidence. Below, we explain the requirements to rent a car in Houston and everything you need to present at the time of delivery.

Minimum Rental Period Policy

The minimum rental period is 3 days. This policy allows us to offer better rates and ensure vehicle availability. Rentals shorter than this period may be subject to availability and price adjustments.

Security Deposit Policy

All rentals require a security deposit. The amounts are:

  • $300 USD standard deposit
  • $700 USD for customers under 25 years old
  • $700 USD minimum if the vehicle is taken out of state

The deposit is typically refunded within approximately 72 hours after the vehicle is returned. The timing may vary depending on the bank or payment method used.

Mileage Policy

Our vehicles are rented with mileage packages included. We do not offer unlimited miles. This allows customers to pay only for what they actually use, helping keep rates more affordable.

Additional miles have a cost, which will be disclosed before the vehicle is delivered.

Out-Of-State Travel Policy

If the vehicle will be used outside the state of Texas, the minimum security deposit will be $700 USD. This must be disclosed before the vehicle is delivered.

Payment Methods Policy

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit cards
  • Debit cards in the customer’s name
  • Zelle
  • CashApp
  • Cash (rental only)

The security deposit must always be made with a bank card in the customer’s name. Prepaid cards are not accepted.

Vehicle Delivery Policy

Delivery can be made at:

  • Houston Airport
  • Customer’s address
  • A previously agreed location

Delivery is complimentary for rentals longer than 10 days. It may also be provided at no additional cost depending on the location and documentation presented.

Insurance Policy

Rates do not include insurance. The customer may:

  • Use their own insurance
  • Purchase one with us

Tourist Policy

Tourists can rent by presenting:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
  • Valid Driver’s License

This policy allows visitors to rent without issues in Houston, Texas.

Vehicle Return Policy

The vehicle MUST be returned:

  • On the agreed date
  • With the same fuel level
  • In similar condition to when it was delivered

Delays may result in additional charges.
